LEXUS - Instagram Content Pitch
Client: Lexus
Creative Director: Austin Muncy
Group Account Director: Patricia Ruiz
Account Manager: Koki Yuyama
Art director/designer: Victor Camacho
Due to the fast nature of social media and the requirement to create more content in less time and budget, we were proposing the possibility to produce content in house for Lexus social media. Although nothing replaces photography, we believe CGI could be a really valuable tool to enhance some shots or for bringing to life ideas that could be too difficult to reproduce due to budget limitations. In the proposal, we explored alternatives to the current in-house production for stills and video, that helped us to push Lexus brand in a really interesting direction. .
Full 3D
Full CGI. We explored from studio to photorealistic shots. We had the benefits of more creative shots, the ability to manipulate cars and place them in impossible angles, plus ideas that would be too costly to develop in real life. As well, it gives the possibility of video and a massive cut in production costs and timings.
Backplates
This time we placed CGI cars over real pictures. In this case we used backplates and HDRI maps already developed by other photographers from the internet, so we could place the cars wherever we wanted. This workflow gave us real benefits on terms of controlling the lighting and the overall look and feel of the production. It allowed drastic cuts in production costs, by reducing travel expenses, because we did not need the crew to shoot somewhere.
